I didn’t want to lug around the power adapter and this is one of the very few options for the aspire one. The plug fits just as well as the OEM plug and everything appears to work. One review commented that another model made by this company came apart. I haven’t had an issues yet, but probably won’t since I don’t care the power supply around.

I was expecting a flimsy, poor fitting, short, no-good adapter and this thing proved me wrong. It fits great both in the netbook as well as the wall plug. Everything is thicker than expected, I did not open the unit, but for what I can tell this thing is a little heavier than the factory adapter. Very glad with this buy. I ordered another one to have at the office so that all I have to carry around is my little AAO.

I bought a HP adapter for my computer from this company and after five months of using it the adapter died and no longer works. I contacted the company and they told me that their policy is that I only have 14 days to return the item. What a load of crap!!!! Their product is a piece of junk and I would not recommend them to anyone. It is worth the extra money to pay to get a quality adaptor from Best Buys. Buyer beware they sell junk!!!!!!!!!

Sure this was cheap, but the cord from the wall does not connect well with the black box – often it falls out and I haven’t noticed until my laptop dies. Also, the cords are poorly proportioned. It does work though, so it wasn’t a total disappointment.

I purchased this hard drive. Looks great and was working good however it died in less than 1 year and Toshiba will not stand by their product and does not recover any data. So do not buy this product it is not reliable.

I bought this product because of the company’s reputation. And I was not surprised with the obvious quality of the product. This worked right out of the box. I am using it with my ACER mini-note/netbook.

3 Stars Requires Two USB Ports
I purchased the drive to use with my HP Mini because it didn’t require an external power supply. When I got it I found that the proper connection to the computer requires two USB ports no more that about 4 inches apart. This is something my mini doesn’t have. The purpose of the plugs is to provide adequate power to the drive and is not guaranteed to work if you only use one plug. So far on my machine it is working while using only one of the plugs but may not be the case on all machines.

Bought this slim portable DVD writer for my iMac as an external drive source. It’s small & compact and seems to work great. I’m using a powered 4 port USB hub so the dual USB connections are not a problem. The eject command only unlatches the door so you have to manually pull to open / push to close. If you are mounting this unit on a shelf try some velcro at the rear to keep it from tipping down when the door is open. This is a very nice little drive, well priced & does what I wanted it to do.

4 Stars Functional Adapter for the Eee PC 900
I have the Eee PC 900 series and this power adapter matches the electronic specifications of the original adapter for my laptop. As the other reviews stated, the previous power adapter began to wear and the wires were not making proper contact due to coiling the adapter’s cables at least twice a day. The male plug on the adapter cable that plugs into the laptop extends out of the plug approximately 3mm and, like other reviews, has a tendency to to “unplug” itself. This is due to the plug’s exterior circumference being larger than the original adapter. This is not to say that the cable falls out on its own, but if you were to move from desk to couch, expect to have to plug it back in. The adapter’s brick does not have an LED on it which is fine, and does not get too hot or humm loudly like some power adapters might. Of course the cable length is sufficient though bordering on being too long. Overall, the product is a $20 dollar cheaper replacement buy that performs the same functionality as the original adapter. If you have the Eee PC and you need a replacement, grab one of these, they do just fine.

Adapter is better than the original equipment. The cord is longer and actually seems to fit the EEE 901 slot better. The original power adapter made the battery/AC indicator flash back and forth (wouldn’t stay on AC or battery) and I didn’t think that was very good for the laptop.

5 Stars Works as well as the name brand for significantly less money.
The original cord for my 900 series ASUS eee PC was both too short and too delicate. It got severed when it was pinched in my recliner, something that has happened to many power cords over the years but has never actually broken one! When I went to replace it, I saw this one priced about $20 less than the name brand, which was more than enough to make me bite.

This new cord is more sturdy, longer, and isn’t such a chore to fit in the machine. The original had an “el” shaped head that was often difficult to remove and insert into the slot. This one is straight and slides right in, but doesn’t feel loose, so I don’t worry that it will become too loose in the slot any time soon.

5 Stars Works great with my Acer 1410
I needed an external DVD reader/writer mainly to load software onto my Acer 1410 which does not have a drive, and this Samsung drive works perfectly for me. The drive comes with Nero 8 “Essentials”, which is a basic OEM suite of utilities for use with the drive. I find it neither great nor bad. If you need any of the utilities, it does the job. The drive itself does not use external power. It uses 2 USB ports. Some people claim it also works with only 1 USB port, but I have not tried it. Installing the drive couldn’t be easier. I took it out of the box, plugged it into my system, and was up and running in probably a minute. The Nero software installed without issue. I loaded several programs from DVD onto my system without problems. I tried burning a couple of DVD’s, and they all completed successfully and faster than expected. Although I have no intention to watch movies on my my netbook, I did pop a movie into the DVD drive, and it played without issue using Windows Media Player. I’m happy with the drive and does exactly what I bought it for.

4 Stars No More Overheating
I was having overheating problems with my netbook, so I looked into buying the Targus Chill Mat. After finally deciding I’d give it a shot, I ordered it and it works really well. It fits the base of my netbook almost exactly, and is lightweight enough to be carried everywhere I bring my netbook. The two fans are very quiet and make no more noise than the computer itself. It has a simple enough setup to be connected to my netbook 24/7, and whereas before I had to keep my netbook off of anything that was not a tile, marble, or wood surface to avoid overheating, I can now set it straight on my bed with no fear of crashing. Even better, the fan runs off of your computer’s power without compromising battery life in the least.

The only problems with the product are minor – because of it’s light weight, it appears and feels cheap, although it certainly is not that way. Any pressure on the fans causes them to press against the frame and make a slight buzzing noise, so you have to be careful when you grab it.

Overall a wonderful product for anyone who has overheating concerns or wants a cool layer between their lap and their netbook.

My take:

-thin, light, cheap, cools fine, quiet, low power draw.

-I took off the memory door on my computer to enhance cooling.

-quieter than other coolers I have owned, you can barely hear it.

-Battery life drop is pleasingly small, from 6 to 5 hours usable.

-Fan intakes are on the bottom (blows upwards), not so hot for a bed.

-Fits in my targus netbook case along with my ASUS EEE PC.

-No ball bearing fans, other similar coolers I have owned die after

9 months at 8 hours a day, I expect similar lifespan here.

-It has special fans to make it thin, but I wish it was even thinner.

Overall, unless I could find something more compact, I would

buy this one again.

1 Star Good at first, but then….
I first bought this item back in September after my initial Dell AC adapter died. After reading several reviews, I decided not to go with a Dell replacement, and finally on the one offered here. The adapter worked great at first, but then died shortly after, at which time the adapter was promptly replaced in January 2009.

It is now June 2009, and the adapter stopped charging again. I contacted the seller, who promptly informed me that the adapter was no longer under warranty, and “best wishes.”

It does not seem that the company stands behind the products that they sell here on Amazon.com. I would highly recommend searching elsewhere.

1 Star Works… some of the time
I bought this adapter about two months ago. Immediately, I noticed that the charge was not consistent and every 30 seconds or so, it would go between charging and not charging. Because of this, the battery rarely got charged above 10%. I contacted to company about the problem and they offered to replace it for me. After sending in the old adapter (at my expense) they sent me a new one with the exact same problems. I know it has nothing to do with my computer because I have another Dell manufactured adapter that works 100% of the time. AC Adapters should work 100% of the time and since this doesn’t, I’m giving the product 1 star.

Updated: I’m surprised it took me this long to figure out but the problem is that the adapter cord doesn’t fit snuggly in the power input. It will charge when it is situated perfectly but the smallest movement will make it fall out of place. Again, the dell adapter doesn’t have this problem so my rating will not change.

1 Star worked for a short time, but then …..
This charger does NOT recharge the battery while it is powering the laptop. The plug that goes into the computer is loose & practically falls out. The wires on the AC side of the charger cord came apart from the end that plugs into the charger itself. First the insulation broke away & then while it was plugged in to a receptacle & my computer, the wires broke & it exploded in my house. This charger is cheaply made & dangerous — do NOT buy
